Build the X-Matrix with a Guided Wizard
You don't need to be a Hoshin expert to run Hoshin. The six-step setup wizard reads the matrix clockwise the way the method intends: capture your 3–5 year Breakthrough Objectives, set the Annual Objectives that keep you on pace, define the Annual Improvement Priorities (AIPs) that will deliver them, and pick the Targets to Improve (TTIs) that prove progress. Then connect the quadrants with weak (○) and strong (●) correlation marks and assign primary and secondary owners — the live X-Matrix updates as you go, ready to print for your next strategy review.
Track Every Target on the Bowling Chart
Strategy fails in the months between reviews, so every TTI gets a bowling chart row: monthly plan versus actual, with a measurement owner and a year-end target. Each metric knows its direction — higher-is-better or lower-is-better — and cells turn green when you're on plan and red when you're not. One glance tells you which targets are drifting before the quarter is lost.
Action Plans and Countermeasures Per Priority
Every improvement priority gets its own action plan: a management owner, a support team, a situation summary, and a timeline of action steps with owners and completion status. When a priority falls behind and a target is impacted, you raise a countermeasure — a problem statement plus corrective actions with what, impact, who and when. The Overview tab rolls up priority status, TTI health and open countermeasures, so your monthly Hoshin review starts from the exceptions, not a status parade.
